100 Women
Lara was invited to participate in “100 Women”, an exhibition commemorating the centennial of women’s suffrage. The exhibit showcased 100 artworks that celebrated the strength and influence of women, particularly in the fashion industry.
50 artists were chosen to interpret 100 models who challenged traditional beauty standards. Each model chose an image that empowered them, which was displayed with a corresponding quote describing how the image affected them.
For this exhibition, Lara was assigned with interpreting two inspiring figures - British artist Alison Lapper MBE and model Mariacarla Boscono. Alison Lapper’s quote revealed that the piece she selected made her feel empowered as a woman with a physical disability, while Mariacarla Boscono’s quote described the piece as a significant milestone in her career, marking the beginning of a historic journey.
